I have a robobrew. Haven't brewed on it yet, but I heated water and ran the pump and it worked fine. Don't see how it would have temp swings any worse than the grainfather. After brewing several batches on a mash and boil I wasn't worried about buying the robobrew. Don't let anyone on this sub sway you from buying it.

I typically end up with 30 plus litres of wort pre boil which is always very low on specific gravity, before sparging it is around the beersmith estimate but after sparging comes in around 1.005 or so. I connected this up to my spa which is not in use, so recirculating the water with a submersible pump got the wort down to pitch temp of 15 degrees in about 25-30 minutes, possibly sooner since I broke my probe thermometer during the boil stage.
